You can’t quite see the seat from a Ford Focus I got from a wreckers. I built that table specifically for simracing and just pull the seat away for regular viewing/gaming from the couch. I also recently added a haptic feedback seat pad for a bit of extra immersion.

Simracing in VR is it’s killer app, I reckon.

Just lapping abulzz’s Targa Florio in Assetto Corsa, or dodging traffic on the Hamburg freeway. Same as always.

Lucky. I’m not in any real hurry for it to be honest. My Quest2 still works fine, for now.

Just checked my email after waking to read this and, yep, wait list. 256GB in Aus. I’m kind of surprised by the demand, honestly. I thought VR was a bit of a dying fad and more of a niche thing.

Get on to support. It worked for me.

Cool. Good to know. It’d be nice to be able to play Elite: Dangerous in VR with a controller a bit more easily.

I think Valve has realised that it’s really just for a certain niche of gamers and that’s who they’re targeting, unlike Meta, that thought everyone would want to live, work and play in the ‘Metaverse’ which was never going to happen.

I use it pretty much only for simracing, so only enough room for a simrig. Things like Beat Sabre can be played standing in place, so just enough room to fling your arms about. I have a low ceiling fan that I forgot to turn off once, and bruised my knuckles. I also don’t recommend playing Superhot VR when drunk.

Thrillseeker put up a pretty good hands-on report recently. I do a lot of sim driving in VR and I mainly just want to get off the Quest/Meta ecosystem. It was either this or the Pimax Crystal Light, and I think this is the more versatile machine.

It’s amazing what you can get if you ask nicely.

Simracing for me. Automobilista 2 in VR is sublime.

It seems odd they wouldn’t prioritise that considering how hard they’ve been pushing Linux/SteamOS.

I feel like it’s gonna sell out either way. Not interested, myself. I’m waiting to see the price of the frame, though, to decide whether I get that or the pimax crystal light.

This is a fun and funny game. Unbeatable price. I highly recommend it.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but the comments in that iFixit page weren’t especially encouraging. I don’t even have a spudger. In fact, I had to look up what a spudger even was. I’m happy to leave it to the professionals.

I’m pretty sure it’s out of warranty by now anyway.
