I always thought Abbott was an ineffective governor, and that the only reason he’s been in office this long is that the Texas governor’s election is always in off-years, when people who have trouble getting to the voting booths are even less likely to go.

The biggest moron involved in this is Donald Trump, for primarying Cornyn in favor of maybe the most corrupt person in Texas government. Somebody who has no charisma and is incapable of debating and who everybody knows is corrupt was chosen over the incumbent just because Paxton is better at licking boots.

I don’t like Cornyn, either, but Paxton is a lemon of a candidate.
