Note that I said ‘most cool Jews’. I’ve met a number of outspoken expats that have flavored my perception, and there’s a broad swath that oppose the country’s actions but you’re right, there’s a metric fuckton of uncool Jews out there.

Considering I live in the US I just feel paralyzed about what to do. I want to be a Mushroom Kingdom champion but I’m not armed, I don’t even like violence, and I have two kids to protect. But I’m so sick of the twisted fucked up leaders making all these power grabs and massacres.

If you looked at the news article, the spokesman for the Kremlin mentioned that it was what the parents had “wanted and requested” which makes it look more like the parents taking a subtle jab at the leadership because they then had to publically hand them out.

Honestly it’s a real fucking bummer. As someone who grew up in an era where a common wish for lottery winners and trophy winners was “peace in the Middle East” in regards to Israel and all of its neighbors, the recent escalation in Gaza has given a lot of us an excuse to learn a lot more about the actual history and unforgivable atrocities that have occurred since the early fifties.
