Even left radicalism is kind of about - “Fuck those people” thinking. Instead of immigrants it’s the rich.
I want to know why this doesn’t seem as appealing as “I hate brown/muslim/black/even more than me poor people”.
I think it’s because of propoganda. The rich can pay for expensive ads and redirect anger. The facist target of the day can’t do this.
The Austrians did elect the FPO back. Did they forget about their incompetency?
I think something more is at play here. Maybe tiktok? Russian interference? Not sure.
I also think it may be because the root problem is not being solved. Late stage capitalism - housing crisis, unemployment and such.
The far right point to immigrants and blames them for it, but the establishment parties also do very little, too late, to solve the issues well either. Then the election cycle comes and people want a reset. A vicious cycle.
I feel like this calls for radical shift in how society operates, doesn’t it (just openly balling)?
I am not saying communist revolution. But I also think we’ve spent too much time kissing rich asses in the name of “we are benefiting from this, keep doing it”. Now that economies don’t grow as fast anymore, the “trickle down” effect isn’t working and people are getting poorer and angrier.
The rich don’t care as long as they can make short term profit, so they keep supporting whoever will help them with that.
There needs to be a change. Or at least the greens, the left need to get some balls, strong leaders and implement some kind of FDResque or clement atleesque policies.
What we need is to give the rich incentives to be happy with what they have and have a stronger government approach to handling things. Avoiding bloodshed is important, don’t want to end up like USSR. Maybe until we figure out unlimited energy we can let the rich be dicks but not let them be too much of dicks.

I don’t get it, why can’t people around the world vote in left wing anti-establishment parties when the status quo gets frustrating?
The far right time and time again have proven to be ineffective at their job and people get tired of them. But they can appeal to emotions?
Are the radical left really that boring? Is the message “for the people” not as sexy as “kill those who don’t look like us?”
Most people like trump, because “strong man”. No one really even knows who JD vance or Usha are. But I guess they’d like her, they like rishi sunak. Being rich is seen as a virtue. There’s also a weird obsession with seeing indians in powerful positions, some sort repressed complex.
She’s fine with the racism because “she’s one of the good ones”. She and vance are neoliberalists, opportunists. Watch them try and make as much money as they can before they get kicked out.
You are right, it’s true everywhere. It’s human nature to be wary of people you don’t understand. But, for some things, you’d expect countries that are a lot further ahead in progressivism to be “nicer”, especially since, you know, they industrialised and became richer on the backs of poorer countries.
Though I suppose that’s very difficult to quantitatively measure exactly - how progressive someone is (on the scale of a country). How more accepting they are than other countries.
But there’s also room for letting people air out their issues without being told that “everyone is like this, stop whining”. That’s literally what the Russian goverment does, they implicitly tell their populace that democracy doesn’t work and that this is the best deal they’ll ever get.
A lot of Americans support Trump or have no willingness to do anything about his facism.
A lot of Germans support Afd.
A lot of french support le pen.
A lot of British folks support reform and Tommy robinson.
So, do all the people from these countries also not deserve any sympathy? You know the ones who can’t do anything about who rules over them? Because they are too busy bogged down in trying to make a living?

At least don’t dehumanise the Russians. There are plenty who hate what’s happening and have died to free their country.

The CCP is special. It’s politicking very much takes it’s people’s happiness (or the people perceived happiness) into account.
Also While they do allow the whole weath inequality gap to increase, they very much control the wealthy, instead of having it the other way around.
Imo, other countries can learn a thing or two. For the CCP dudes, there’s no next election cycle to start ramping up actual work that needs to be done to get them elected again. For them it’s over, if they don’t keep their people happy (content/fooled) and they’re the only goddamn authoritarians that understand that. They understand this, so they keep a tight leash on every enterprise, bank and institution within the country and plan extensively.
That’s what the governments need to do, let only the people’s vote control them and not any money, lobbying, institution or rich person.
