I always turn mine off, the Deck has terrible battery life in sleep mode. My partner usually keeps theirs in sleep-mode and they often need to charge their Deck when turning it back on.

Can I ask the community if they’re having the same issues as I with the background recording? It’s been busted for me for months (and others) but others seem unaffected. It’s driving me insane trying to work around it.

2 months on and this is still an issue (it started as far back as May! 4 months ago!). GG Valve!

I still have mine in it’s original box sealed. It’s my retirement plan.

I use it without issue and frankly couldn’t live without the customisation of it now. The only problem I’ve had with the Steam Deck is the background recording no longer works (consistently) as far as I’m aware this is an issue with Steam/SteamOS and not because of Decky

If that is the case I could very well have misunderstood; my partner bought the 512GB and (as far as I know) didn’t receive the special profile, keyboards or intro video. Maybe they simply haven’t claimed them.

edit: we just checked and they did NOT receive any bonus profile flair, keyboard layouts etc… My original comment seems to be correct.

If you’re into cosmetics the only way (that I’m aware of) to get the fancy Steam profile stuff and special keyboards is to buy the 1TB version. If you’re interested in customising your Deck with themes, intro videos and the like the 1TB version is the way forward as space gets eaten up quickly.

It’s worth buying a screen protector and a small, fine paintbrush to dust out the grooves and vents.

Ah, I see. So the issue is on Valves end? I’ll probably give it a few more weeks/a month or two. Hopefully Valve would have addressed this by then. Thanks for your help and time.
