I wish some other countries would learn a thing or two from romania.
I’m not sure about the extent of Georgescu’s actions, but Germany’s AfD are not exactly defenders of democracy and respecting the constitution either.

@CyberEgg We have a bigger party called AUR which is on par with them, rest assured. Georgescu was just too disruptive to be left alone, and is also alleged to have links to a mercenary group that planned to do a coup d’état.

This is just where the work begins, because at least now we’ve been graced with a relatively safe display of exactly how vulnerable our State is. And with the mounting deluge outside, things’ll just get rougher and rougher.

We really have to be careful about this, because I think we just got lucky this time.

Yeah, I do think the same. If the last period of time showed something, it was that the state institutions got weaker and weaker over time, and incapable of properly applying the law. This was indeed the result of the years of corruption and neglect, as well as lack of meaningful reforms, which left a breach in these institutions that malicious persons like Georgescu took advantage of. Too bad the best choice at the previous ones was a person who only deepened these weaknesses. And I am afraid about the person that’s coming up next. I fear that if these issues are not properly addressed, at least in part, we will not be so lucky anymore in the future. It’s the last train, and we better not miss it.
