The article says that the influence on battery usage is low. But the higher resolution might result in a higher power draw.
This map looks good, but feels somewhat misleading. For me, it looks like India is home to about half of the world’s population.

With FSR getting better each year, I think the time is ready for full hd on the deck. Also, 2560x1600 would be a nice option, offering both high DPI and flawless scaling from the original resolution.

yes. Sadly, very few games get such improvement after launching. But we can expect new games to support it.
The hardware vendors treat their products as small gaming pc with a controller, unlike steam.
This is so true. Some vendors try with larger screens, 120 hz and other stuff, but the steam deck is loved most for its software.
If microsoft would release a gaming handheld, it would probably be locked down like the xbox console.
From my experience, it does not work very well. I like playing coop games with my kids, but sometimes the controllers stop working for some reason. But to change the controller config, I have to leave the game, switch to desktop mode, change settings and start the game again (in game mode).
It’s possible, but a native console will likely work better.
It would make more sense for microsoft to partner with some hardware vendor and release a modified version of windows 11. With a nice mobile-optimized GUI, integration for the most popular game stores and an optional desktop mode.
