Historians from both sides have over the last years documented numerous violations including arbitrary killings and detention carried out by French forces and the history still burdens French-Algerian relations to this day.

Racism, imperialism and colonialism are well intertwined.
With this logic the same should be applied to Italy, Finland, Slovakia, Croatia and the Czech Republic.
Still, this approach doesn’t tackle the issue that the far-right gains power through elections in representative democracies.
I’m not sure I understand, because far-right, nationalist and/or fascist governments gain power through democratic elections.

Of course. In this case, it refers to representative democracies and it is totally debatable how democratic they are.
Direct democracy on the other hand, is democratic. There is no question about that, no matter if one likes it or not.

I don’t think far-right parties appeal to logic. I think they create a narrative that is based on feelings of fear, and then present themselves as the only solution to their imaginary problem. Something like that.
I think the cruelty of “living” conditions and slaughtering in the chicken industry business are so extreme, that go beyond eating or not animals in general.
